وقف العصفور الصغير على غصن شجرة فترة طويلة.. دون أن يغرد مثل عادة الطيور الجميلة الملونة..
سأله الغصن: "ما بك أيها الصفور الجميل صامت لا تغرد".
تنهد العصفور من أعماق قلبه وقال:
"كيف أغرد وأنا أرى أقراني العصافير وهم يقتلون كل يوم برصاص الصيادين..".
قال الغصن: "غرد أيها العصفور غرد.. لا تكن أنت والصيادون في جانب واحد ضد الطبيعة الجميلة.. عصفور بلا تغريد.. شجرة بلا ثمر.. غرد أيها العصفور غرد.. ولا تتوقف عن التغريد.. رغم أنف كل الصيادين.."..
ابتسم العصفور وعاد يغرد بأعلى صوته بلا توقف..
ضمت الشجرة أغصانها طرباً من صوته الجميل.. وتجمعت أوراقها لتحميه من غدر الصيادين..
